Oral examinations

Oral Exam Dates

Examinations are held in UK locations twice a year and additional sessions are arranged subject to demand. The exam format is made up of an examination board usually consisting of two members. Examination timing is 45 minutes and questions are asked of two sections:

Section 1: General principals of automotive engineer assessing

(including insurance principles, vehicle technical and repair issues)

Section 2: General principles of law

(Including rules of evidence, consumer law, garaging and repair, plus arbitration).

NOTE: Candidates are required to have studied the oral examination manual.
