The Ministry of Justice will be hosting a webinar, facilitated by MIB, on 11th March 9.30am-10.30am covering the policy aspects of these important reforms and to outline the progress made to date
As you will be aware, work is ongoing to implement the Whiplash Reform Programme in May 2021. The Government is firmly committed to the implementation of the necessary and proportionate measures set out in Part 1 of the Civil Liability Act 2018.
The session will focus on the following:
Pre-action protocol Information on the new Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) which establishes a process to help parties to reach a fair settlement. During the session we will explain the conduct and the steps within the PAP, along with a brief update of the current status and timetable of the Statutory Instruments. Practice direction An overview of the new Practice Direction (PD) which will provide a bespoke procedure for dealing with disputes where they arise within the protocol. The session will provide information on the structure of the PD; what it covers, what it does not cover and why; and an explanation of the process including different routes to court. In addition, an outline of the forms involved and some information on related fees will be provided. Register here to attend
