| Honorary Fellow |

The distinction of Honorary Fellowship may be conferred by resolution of a General Meeting upon persons not being members of the Institute who shall have rendered special service to the Institute and shall agree in writing to become Honorary Fellows of the Institute. |

| Fellow |
| |
A Corporate Member who has rendered special services to the Institute may be elected to Fellowship by resolution of a General Meeting of the Institute. |

| Member |
| 1. |
Shall have had relevant training in vehicle damage assessment which could include an apprenticeship. |
| 2. |
Shall have passed at least 4 sections of the Institute’s written examinations. |
| 3. |
Shall have passed the institute’s Practical examination within the last 4 years or hold a current ATA VDA certificate. |
| 4. |
Shall have satisfied the Council that he is employed as an engineer assessor in a Vehicle Damage Assessing role in connection with automotive damage claims. |
| 5. |
Can provide a comprehensive education /relevant training record. |
| 6. |
Shall have passed Four written sections of IAEA Examinations and within Two years of obtaining Associate ship shall have passed either the IAEA Practical examination or ATA VDA. |

| Associate |
| 1. |
Shall have had relevant training in vehicle damage assessment which could include an apprenticeship. |
| 2. |
Shall have passed the Institute’s oral examination. |
| 3. |
Shall have passed the Institute’s Practical examination within the last 4 years or hold a current ATA VDA certificate. |
| 4. |
Shall have passed Four written sections of IAEA Examinations and within Two years of obtaining Associate ship shall have passed either the IAEA Practical examination or ATA VDA. |

| Student |
| 1. |
Students shall be persons who satisfy the Membership Committee that they meet the educational and employment requirements that the Council shall from time to time determine. |
| 2. |
No person shall normally remain a student for a period in excess of Five years and shall adhere to the five year study plan. |
