Welcome to the Irish Region which incorporates the 26 counties of the Republic of Ireland in its membership.
While traditionally the Region has been Dublin based, the Committee comprises some members from rural counties.
Membership comprises both independent and staff engineers working within the industry and in recent times many have undertaken the Institute examinations through DIT Bolton Street, Dublin or by distance learning, in anticipation of employment in the future with a career as an engineer.
The Region arranges CPD compliant lectures to keep membership informed and updated in such areas as new technology.
We also keep open relationships with the Government in relation to consultation in forthcoming legislation.
As the use of only qualified engineers by business clients and authorities is becoming standard and will likely become mandatory through future legislation, the Region encourage new members and those who wish to progress their career opportunities in developing their CPD.
Articles of interest in the media seen by our members or indeed their own dissertations or letters are always welcome for publication by the Editor of 'The Assessor', our Institute Journal.
Ideas for lectures and the organisation of such outside Dublin are welcomed by the Committee who would support such activities.
The AGM is normally held in the New Year and nominations are encouraged for officer and Committee positions.
Notification of events is by email and text and is shown on our regional webpage.
It is the responsibility of members to ensure that their contact details, email address and mobile number are current and receptive to Institute electronic communications and registered with Head Office in Whitchurch, UK.
