Last week saw a slight decline in unique claims exchanged, which may indicate a lag between FNOL and repair volumes
As we approach Easter break weekend, it will be the analysis week ending 10 April where we may see some improvement in parallel with lockdown restrictions easing across the Country?
CAPS' latest collision repair industry report for the last week of March indicates that unique claims fell five per cent and claims were 80% of what they were in early November.
Meanwhile, supply chain transmissions were up one per cent last week to 90% of what they were last November.
Furlough and flexible working still impact work levels, while the discrepancy between claims and transmissions could be attributed to the fact that CAPS measures claims exchanged and not necessarily the frequency of new claims, suggesting there may be a weekly lag.
