The Saving of Jaguar - The Egan Years

The Beaumont Suite, The Britannia Hotel, Beaumont

On 31 January starting at 7pm prompt, The North West Region of the IAEA are pleased to present: The Saving of Jaguar - The Egan Years

Speaker: Peter Leake, Jaguar training consultant

Peter presents an insider's view of Jaguar under the reign of CEO Sir John Egan.

Still under the ownership of British Leyland in 1981 the lack of investment was showing and the new chairman, John Egan, found himself faced with some very tough decisions. Jaguar were cashless, quality was low, and dealers around the world were seriously considering their future.

In his own style, Peter will tell the story of those issues, their solutions, and a plan for the future - through the eyes of one who was part of that recovery. Evidence of the success of that plan was seen when, in December 1989, Ford put forward their hostile bid to take over Jaguar for £1.6bn - for a company that less than 10 years earlier was worthless.

Doors will open at 18.30 for the customary opportunity to enjoy a drink and network with friends and colleagues.
