Wilcox Limousines hits milestone

Wilcox Limousines is celebrating the landmark delivery of its 1000thJaguar Aluminium XJ Limousine, which makes the model one of the bestselling British limousines of all time

The third generation family business has held an exclusive partnership with Jaguar since 1992, during which time it is has transformed hundreds of Jaguar’s flagship XJ models, converting them into stylish luxury funeral cars that fully reflect the car maker’s prestigious brand. The 1000thcar milestone sees the XJ model become the most successful ever funeral car for Wilcox Limousines.

Paul Wilcox, CEO at Wilcox Limousines, said, ‘It’s a fantastic achievement and something we’re enormously proud of. Our relationship with Jaguar has been an extremely good one over the years and we’ve taken great pride in producing limousines that truly reflect the high quality of the Jaguar brand.’

He continued, ‘The new design of our Jaguar XJ Aluminium Hearse and Limousine was the biggest facelift of a Jaguar model for over 45 years. We’ve gradually improved on the limousine design as Jaguar has introduced new XJ models periodically over the years since we started working with them way back in 1969. Our latest design though is definitely our best yet.’

Jaguar Cars and Wilcox Limousines have worked in partnership since 1969, and exclusively since 1992; still to this day, Wilcox are the only authorised Jaguar Cars Coachbuilder in the world. The firm boasts a highly skilled workforce that produces all vehicles using hand beaten panels that have been crafted with the utmost expertise. During this period Wilcox has built over 2,000 Jaguar funeral cars in total when taking hearses and hearsettes into account.

Wilcox Limousines and Eagle Specialist Vehicles manufacture the vehicles from aluminium, whilst the construction utilises technology that’s usually reserved for the aircraft industry. Using aluminium means that Jaguar vehicles will remain rust free forever, as the metal doesn’t rust.

Paul concluded, ‘It’s incredible to think that over the years we’ve produced a thousand of them. It’s a great achievement, but the high quality standard of the vehicles means it’s clear to see why they have become the most popular choice. We look forward to manufacturing the next thousand!’
