This event takes place on Wednesday 10 June, and every year sees tens of thousands of children learning about road safety in their classroom, promoting the benefits of safe walking and cycling to school, and calling on drivers to slow down in their community.Brake’s Giant Walk involves children taking part in a safe walk from their school gates, anything from 500m to 5000m The event is a great focal point for schools to teach road safety using resources and advice from Brake, which can be linked to a range of subjects. Schools can use their walk to call on drivers to slow down to watch out for children on foot or bike. The project also raises funds for Brake's work to improve road safety and care for families devastated by death or injury on roads because most schools fundraise.REGISTER NOW! Brake is urging primary schools to register to take part in this great event and receive support and free resources available from Brake.Find out more and register online at www.brake.org.uk/giantwalk or phone 01484 550061.
