Emission problems dog Audi

BBC reports that emission software issues continue to plague Audi with the automaker forced to admit that another 60,000 A6 and A7 models with diesel engines have emission software issues.

Volkswagen had to recall 850,000 vehicles in 2017 after problems with the 'cheat' software was revealed in 2015.

US prosecutors last week called it an 'appalling' fraud that went to the very top of the company.

Audi's chief executive, Rupert Stadler, said the company had responded quickly 'because full disclosure lies in our highest interest'.

Customers will be informed and offered a software update.

Audi has reportedly been summoned to Germany's vehicle authority for a formal hearing.
