Tesla appoints new board chair

Tesla appoints new board chair

Tesla has announced that Robyn Denholm, Australian finance chief of Telstra, has been appointed the company's new board chair.

According to the BBC, the appointment comes after Elon Musk stepped down from the position of chair in October 2018, to resolute US financial regulator's claims of fraud.

The employment of a new chairman is just one of the penalties Elon and Tesla face.

Robyn has sat on Tesla's board for over two years and will begin her full-time job at Tesla after finishing a six-month notice period at Telstra.

Robyn commented on her new appointment, 'I believe in this company, I believe in its mission and I look forward to helping Elon and the Tesla team achieve sustainable profitability and drive long-term shareholder value.'

Elon also stated, 'Robyn has extensive experience in both the tech and auto industries, and she has made significant contributions as a Tesla board member over the past four years in helping us become a profitable company.'
