ACEA publishes European 2020 production figures
It's not a pretty sight - the impact of EU-wide Covid-19 shutdowns amounts to losses of at least 2,424,955 vehicles
18 May 2020, Belgium, ACEA published an interactive map which shows the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the production of motor vehicles for each of the 27 EU member states plus the UK.
- EU-wide production losses due to factory shutdowns amount to at least 2,424,955 motor vehicles so far (figure includes passenger cars, trucks, vans, buses and coaches).
- The average shutdown duration is 30 working days at the moment.
- Production losses are obviously set to increase if shutdowns are extended or additional plants are brought to a halt.
- In the UK 250,792 units lost as a result of 40 days downtime.
