Mercedes-Benz - no traffic accidents by 2050

24 November 2022 | David Young

Mercedes-Benz is making the topic of vehicle safety the focus of its social media activities for one week starting on November 24

M-B - no traffic accidents by 2050

M-B headquarters accounts on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter will post more than 50 assets with the hashtag #allforsafety. The account of the chairman of the board of management Ola Källenius, as well as the accounts of the boards of directors from research and development, marketing, and sales will also be dedicated to safety during this week.

  • The spectrum of content ranges from interactive quiz formats and the introduction of experts from safety-relevant fields to animations and videos. The functions of the innovative Mercedes-Benz safety systems will be illustrated in entertaining and informative ways.
  • Following the campaign week, the Mercedes-Benz accounts will continue to post more than 40 additional assets on the topic of vehicle safety until the end of the year.
  • Safety is an essential part of the DNA of Mercedes-Benz and one of the central responsibilities we have placed on ourselves – a responsibility we have to all road users.
  • Now, in 2022, the brand with the three-pointed star is using two anniversaries in the areas of active and passive safety as an opportunity to present its latest safety features. 25 years ago, the moose test in Sweden led to the rapid introduction of the Electronic Stability Program, ESP®, in the compact class as standard. And 20 years ago, PRE-SAFE® linked active and passive safety elements for the first time to provide preventive accident protection.
  • Today, the goal is clear: no traffic accidents by 2050, as well as halving the number of traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2030 compared to 2020 – consistent with the "Vision Zero" goals. "Vision Zero" is a vision of traffic without injuries and fatalities.
